The production slump continues. No eggs in past week.Last year at this time they were laying about 6 brown eggs every 2-3 days.

My guess is that the 2 1/2 year olds are having a longer molt. New hens every 2 years may help.

no eggs. I've lectured them about their suitability for soup, tamales, etc. Older hens should be slaughtered.

No posts for a while.

Production has been very low since last post - 1 brown egg every 2-3 days. Molting season, plus low light.
