Wednesday 1 brown, swam usual mile
Tuesday 1 cannibalized brown.

Slaughtered 6 meat birds on Tuesday. live weight from 6 # 4 oz to 9# 6 oz. That was one big chicken. I have the dressed weights on the ziplock bags the meat was frozen in.

new flock is down to 12 meat birds + 9 new layers (unless one of the layers turns out to be a cockeral).

Purchasing eggs

$5 per dozen

These eggs have not been washed – they have a protective cuticle.

Wash before using.

Refrigerate after washing.

Eggs are put in cartons with the oldest eggs along the hinge side of the carton.

I use white and green eggs to delineate new days the white eggs mark the start of a day, green end of day.

Chickens are fed organic feed and scratch.

They also are fed kitchen scraps, most of which is also organic.

The logging to the right has most the most recent day's egg totals

followed by a rolling time series of 7 days production by color

then 3 day and 7 day totals
